Los Angeles airports

Los Angeles International (LAX)

A horseshoe of terminals designed for far less traffic than it now carries, and the upper and lower roadways behave very differently depending on the hour. Arrivals at LAX reward a driver who knows which door actually works for your terminal. We confirm the terminal against the flight number and meet inside by default — the kerb at LAX is not a place to be waiting with luggage.

All terminals · Tom Bradley international · Meet & greet

Hollywood Burbank (BUR)

Small, close to the studios and the single most pleasant airport in the region to be collected from. For anyone working in Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena or the Valley it is faster end to end than LAX even when the flight options are thinner. We will say so when the booking makes it obvious, because arriving through Burbank instead of LAX can save an hour of ground time.

Studio district · Valley advantage · Short arrivals walk

John Wayne (SNA) and Long Beach (LGB)

Orange County and Long Beach serve the south of the region and are frequently the better arrival point for anyone working in Irvine, Newport Beach or the South Bay. From SNA to central Los Angeles is a genuine drive up the 405, so the airport choice should follow the destination rather than the fare. We cover both on the same per-route basis.

Orange County · South Bay · 405 corridor

Van Nuys (VNY) and private aviation

Van Nuys is one of the world’s busiest general-aviation airports and handles a large share of the region’s private movements; Burbank and Long Beach also serve private flights. For private arrivals we work from the tail number and coordinate with the FBO directly rather than a published schedule, so an early landing is met on the ramp. Tell us the field and the FBO when you book and we will confirm coverage before you travel.

Where we work in Los Angeles

Century City & Beverly Hills

Century City’s defined pickup points make it reliable. The entertainment, legal and financial concentration on the West Side, and where most of our Los Angeles corporate work sits. Century City’s towers have structured parking and defined pickup points, which makes it one of the more reliable districts to work in.

Beverly Hills

Downtown Los Angeles

A trip against the flow moves far better than the map suggests. Downtown’s traffic is genuinely bidirectional — heavy inbound in the morning and outbound at night — so a trip against the flow moves far better than the map suggests. Event nights at the arena complex close streets rather than merely slowing them.

Santa Monica & the Westside

Leave before the 10 and the 405 fill. Santa Monica, Venice and Playa Vista carry the technology and media work, and all three sit closer to LAX than almost anywhere else of consequence. For a morning departure from Santa Monica we will usually recommend leaving before the corridor fills rather than trying to cross it.

Hollywood, Burbank & the studios

The studios are far closer to Burbank than to LAX. Studio work has its own rhythm — early calls, long days and departures that move by hours rather than minutes. The studios are also closer to Burbank than to LAX by a wide margin, which is worth knowing when the flights are being booked.

Pasadena, the Valley & beyond

Crossing the hills is the most underestimated journey here. Pasadena, Glendale and the San Fernando Valley sit on the far side of the hills from the Westside, and crossing between them at the wrong hour is the single most underestimated journey in the region. We quote these honestly rather than optimistically.

Hotels, venues and campuses we run to

Hotel transfers in Los Angeles

The Beverly Hills houses sit within a few minutes of one another, which makes a multi-hotel morning pickup practical here. Rodeo Drive and the blocks around it effectively lose kerb access in the afternoon, so we work from a cross street.

Events & venues in Los Angeles

SoFi and the Hollywood Bowl are the two worst departures in the city — both empty enormous crowds onto limited roads at once. For either we agree a collection point away from the venue and walk you the last stretch rather than sitting in a queue.

Malibu, Santa Barbara and Palm Springs are genuine long-distance runs quoted per trip, and all three are far better as a day hire than as two transfers. The Getty and Griffith both have controlled access roads that queue badly at weekends.

Universities & campuses in Los Angeles

Cedars-Sinai and the UCLA medical campus both sit in dense Westside traffic with multiple entrances serving different departments. We confirm the building, and medical days are better booked hourly because the return time is rarely knowable.
