Booking in Chicago
The grid moves well until it stops, and in winter it stops without much warning. Pickups are built with that margin already in them. Chauffeured sedans and SUVs across Chicago — two commercial airports on opposite sides of the city, a downtown grid that works well until it abruptly does not, and weather that has to be planned around rather than reacted to. Booked and managed by Executive Black Car, driven by vetted local operators who work these roads every day.

Chicago airports
O’Hare International (ORD)
One of the largest connecting hubs in the world, with domestic traffic split across Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and international arrivals at Terminal 5, which sits apart from the rest. Getting the terminal wrong at O’Hare is not a short correction. We confirm it against the flight number, and for international arrivals we hold through customs rather than starting a clock on a queue nobody controls.
Terminals 1, 2 & 3 · Terminal 5 international · Customs hold
Midway International (MDW)
Smaller, closer to the Loop and markedly less prone to the delays that O’Hare absorbs on a bad day. Midway is a single terminal with a straightforward arrivals level, which makes it the easier pickup of the two by some margin. For anyone based south or west of downtown it is frequently the better airport even when the fare is similar.
Single terminal · Closer to the Loop · South-side advantage
Private aviation
Chicago’s private movements are spread across several fields rather than one, with Chicago Executive in Wheeling to the north and DuPage to the west carrying much of the traffic, and O’Hare handling the larger aircraft. Which field suits you depends far more on where you are staying than on the aircraft. For private arrivals we work from the tail number and coordinate with the FBO directly. Tell us the field and the FBO when you book and we will confirm coverage before you travel.

Where we work in Chicago
The Loop & Michigan Avenue
A raised bridge stops a journey; we route around the river. The financial and legal core, and where most Chicago corporate bookings begin. A raised bridge over the river stops a journey completely rather than slowing it, and the lift schedule runs on its own logic in spring and autumn.
River North & Streeterville
We agree a pickup point, not a hotel name. River North’s density means kerb space is genuinely scarce at peak times, so we agree a specific pickup point rather than a hotel name — several of the larger properties have a side entrance that works considerably better than the front.
Fulton Market & the West Loop
Closer to the expressway: one of the better O’Hare runs. Its advantage for travel is real: the West Loop sits closer to the expressway than the Loop does, which makes it one of the better O’Hare runs downtown. Evening restaurant demand here is heavy enough to be worth booking ahead.
McCormick Place & conventions
Convention groups need staging, not scheduling. The largest convention centre in North America, and on a major show week it reshapes traffic across the entire south side of downtown. Group movements here need staging rather than scheduling — vehicles positioned before they are wanted, not dispatched when they are.
North Shore, Oak Brook & the suburbs
Many campuses sit closer to O’Hare than downtown does. Evanston, Northbrook and the North Shore to the north, Oak Brook and the East–West corridor to the west — a substantial share of the region’s corporate campuses sit outside the city entirely. Many of these are closer to O’Hare than downtown is, which works in your favour.
Typical journey times to O’Hare and Midway
Chicago’s expressways are the whole story. The Kennedy carries almost everything heading to O’Hare and it does not fail gracefully, so an airport run timed off the off-peak figure is a gamble rather than a plan.
| From | Approx. distance | Off-peak | Allow in peak |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Loop to O’Hare | 18 miles | 30–40 min | 60–85 min |
| The Loop to Midway | 11 miles | 25–30 min | 40–55 min |
| River North to O’Hare | 17 miles | 30–40 min | 60–80 min |

Hotels, venues and campuses we run to
Hotel transfers in Chicago
River North’s kerb space is genuinely scarce at peak, and several of the larger properties have a lower-level or side entrance that works considerably better than the front. We agree the specific door at booking rather than the hotel name.
Events & venues in Chicago
Wrigley is embedded in a residential neighbourhood with narrow streets and heavy permit parking, so a game night there is a different proposition from any other venue in the city. We collect from an agreed corner several blocks out rather than the ballpark itself.
Lake-effect snow and wind off the water can turn a fifteen-minute run into an hour with very little warning, and the Kennedy is the first road to fail. Through winter we build real allowance into every airport booking rather than quoting the clear-road figure.

Universities & campuses in Chicago
The Illinois Medical District on the near West Side is several hospitals sharing one dense grid, and the institution name is not enough — we confirm the building. Hyde Park is far enough south that airport timing should be taken from there, not from the Loop.
