Hotel transfers in Seattle
Downtown Seattle is steep, and a hotel that sits mid-block on a hill is a different pickup from one on a flat corner.

The Seattle hotels we run to
Seattle’s executive hotels sit downtown between the waterfront and the retail core, with the Bellevue properties serving Eastside business that never needs to cross the water. The hills shape pickups here more than traffic does: several downtown houses sit mid-block on a serious gradient where a vehicle can only stop facing one way. We plan the approach rather than leaving it to the day.
These are the addresses people actually give a chauffeur in Seattle. The lake splits the region in two and the bridge you choose decides the journey.
Where visiting executives stay. Downtown takes most of the corporate traffic, with the Bellevue properties serving the Eastside business that never crosses the water.
Four Seasons Seattle
Waterfront
On First Avenue above the waterfront next to the art museum, with a covered entrance and good access along a flatter stretch than most downtown addresses. Close to Pike Place, so the surrounding blocks fill with visitor traffic through the middle of the day.
Fairmont Olympic
Downtown
On University Street in the retail core, a grand old house with a proper covered carriage entrance that still works exactly as intended. One of the most comfortable pickups in the city. The surrounding grid is steep but the entrance itself is level.
Thompson Seattle
Belltown
On First Avenue in Belltown with a compact frontage and limited kerb, on a street that is busy through the evening. Works well outside the dinner rush and needs an agreed point during it. Short run to South Lake Union.
Lotte Hotel Seattle
Downtown
In the old Sanctuary building on Fifth Avenue, with an entrance that is easy to miss and a street that carries steady through traffic. Central for the convention centre and the retail core. We use the correct side rather than circling the block.
The Edgewater
Waterfront
Out on a pier on the waterfront, reached by the Alaskan Way surface road, which is busy with cruise traffic on summer Saturdays and quiet otherwise. Its own drive works well. The pier position makes it the flattest approach downtown.
Hotel 1000
Downtown
On First Avenue at Madison, in the middle of the downtown grid with a moderate slope and a compact entrance. Close to the ferry terminal, which matters on a sailing day when Colman Dock traffic backs up along the waterfront.
Inn at the Market
Pike Place
Inside the Pike Place Market block, which is genuinely difficult for a vehicle — narrow, crowded and semi-pedestrian through the day. The hotel manages arrivals carefully. We work from First Avenue and walk the short distance rather than attempting the market streets.
W Seattle
Downtown
On Fourth Avenue in the financial core with a covered entrance and reasonable access, on one of the flatter downtown streets. Busy at checkout. Convenient for both the convention centre and the I-5 southbound to Sea-Tac.
Hyatt Regency Bellevue
Bellevue
In the middle of downtown Bellevue attached to the shopping centre, with a large covered arrival area and proper space for vehicles. Considerably easier to work than any Seattle downtown address, and no lake crossing for Eastside meetings.
The Westin Bellevue
Bellevue
A few blocks from the Hyatt in downtown Bellevue, with a straightforward entrance and easy access to the 405 and the 520. For a week of Eastside meetings, staying here rather than in Seattle removes two bridge crossings a day.
From the Seattle hotel districts to Sea-Tac
Door to kerb, ordinary conditions. The Bellevue figures run on I-405, which is the part that moves rather than the distance.
| Hotel district | Approx. distance | Off-peak | Allow in peak |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown · to Sea-Tac | 14 miles | 25–30 min | 40–60 min |
| Waterfront · to Sea-Tac | 15 miles | 26–32 min | 42–62 min |
| Belltown · to Sea-Tac | 15 miles | 26–33 min | 43–65 min |
| Bellevue · to Sea-Tac | 21 miles | 30–40 min | 50–80 min |
| Downtown · to Boeing Field | 6 miles | 12–18 min | 25–40 min |
How Seattle hotel transfers are priced
Hotel transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. Hourly hire suits a day that starts and ends at the hotel with stops between, which downtown parking rates make the economical choice more often than people expect.
If your meetings are on the Eastside and you have not booked the hotel, staying in Bellevue rather than Seattle saves two crossings a day. We will say so plainly.
