The Miami fields

South Florida carries one of the heaviest concentrations of private traffic anywhere. Which field suits you is about where you are staying, not what you are flying. Opa-locka handles much of the Miami-side private movement, Fort Lauderdale Executive serves Broward, Miami Executive covers the south and Boca Raton the north, with Miami International and Fort Lauderdale both taking private traffic as well. In season every one of them is busy. We work from the tail number and coordinate with the FBO directly, and we will tell you which field actually fits your week.

Opa-locka (OPF)

North-west of the city and the principal private field for Miami itself, with a large number of FBOs across a big site. The FBO name matters far more than the airport name when a vehicle is dispatched here. Well placed for Aventura, the beaches and north Miami-Dade, a moderate run to Brickell.

  • Principal Miami field
  • Many FBOs
  • North-side advantage

Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE) and Boca Raton (BCT)

FXE is one of the busiest general-aviation fields in the country and the natural choice for Broward and the northern beaches. Boca Raton serves Palm Beach County and the northern corridor. For anyone whose week is spent north of Aventura, either beats an Opa-locka arrival comfortably.

  • Broward
  • Palm Beach corridor
  • Very busy fields

Miami Executive (TMB) and the commercial fields

Miami Executive covers the south of the county and suits Coral Gables, Pinecrest and the Keys run. MIA and FLL both handle private movements with FBO facilities well away from the passenger terminals, so a vehicle sent to a terminal address is in entirely the wrong place.

  • Southern Miami-Dade
  • Keys access
  • Separate FBO addresses

Miami season, yachts and crew

In season, book the ground before you file

During Art Basel, the boat shows and the winter peak every FBO in South Florida is at capacity and so is every vehicle. A transfer arranged the week before is a very different proposition from one arranged the month before. We plan those weeks as an operation rather than as a set of bookings.

  • Season capacity
  • Book ahead
  • Planned as an operation

Yacht and marina coordination

A great deal of private aviation here connects to a vessel rather than a hotel, and marina access, gate procedures and crew timings are their own piece of work. We coordinate with the captain or the broker directly and treat a tender time the way we treat a wheels-up — as the fixed point everything else moves around.

  • Marina access
  • Captain coordination
  • Tender timings

From the Miami private fields

Door to FBO, ordinary conditions outside season. In season every one of these grows, and we quote accordingly rather than optimistically.

How Miami private aviation transfers are priced

FBO transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. Waiting time is measured against the actual movement rather than a filed time, so an early landing or a slipped departure does not become a billing conversation.

Tell us the field and the FBO when you book and we will confirm coverage before you travel. If the movement connects to a vessel, tell us the marina and we will coordinate with the crew directly.
