The Miami hotels we run to

Ocean Drive and Collins are effectively impossible for a stopped vehicle in the evening. The pickup point is the booking detail that matters here. Miami’s hotels divide between Brickell and downtown, which take the banking and Latin American corporate traffic, and the beach properties serving events, entertainment and leisure. Beach hotel entrances vary enormously in how workable they are for a vehicle, and several of the best of them open onto streets where stopping is not practical after dark. We agree a specific pickup point at booking rather than a hotel name.

These are the addresses people actually give a chauffeur in Miami. Everything to the beach crosses a causeway, and the causeway is the journey.

Where visiting executives stay. Brickell and downtown take the banking and Latin American corporate traffic, while the beach properties serve the events, entertainment and leisure business.

Four Seasons Miami

Brickell

On Brickell Avenue in the middle of the financial district, with a covered entrance set off the avenue itself. Brickell is congested through most of the day and the side street moves better, but this forecourt works properly. Among the more reliable pickups in the city.

  • Brickell Avenue
  • Covered entrance
  • Reliable

Mandarin Oriental Miami

Brickell Key

On Brickell Key, an island reached by a single bridge, which is both why it is quiet and why access has exactly one route. When the bridge approach backs up there is no alternative. Otherwise a calm, well-organised arrival away from the avenue entirely.

  • Island location
  • Single bridge
  • Calm arrival

The Setai

South Beach

On Collins in the middle of South Beach, with a discreet entrance that handles vehicles well considering where it sits. Collins itself is impractical in the evening and we work from the hotel drive rather than the street. Art Basel week changes access entirely.

  • Collins Avenue
  • Discreet entrance
  • Basel week

Faena Miami Beach

Mid-Beach

On Collins in Mid-Beach, north of the South Beach congestion and consequently easier to work through the evening. Proper vehicle access. Its position makes an early Fort Lauderdale departure more sensible than an MIA one, which is worth knowing when flights are booked.

  • Mid-Beach
  • Easier evenings
  • Consider FLL

1 Hotel South Beach

South Beach

On Collins at 24th with a generous forecourt by South Beach standards and staff used to managing a busy arrival. Sits at the northern end of the South Beach strip, which makes getting in and out materially easier than the blocks further south.

  • Generous forecourt
  • Northern end of the strip

The Ritz-Carlton South Beach

South Beach

On Lincoln Road at Collins, with a curved drive set back from the street. Lincoln Road is pedestrianised for much of its length, so the approach has to come from the right direction and we plan it rather than discovering it.

  • Set-back drive
  • Pedestrian Lincoln Road
  • Directional approach

The Miami EDITION

Mid-Beach

On Collins in Mid-Beach with a proper porte-cochere and good access, far enough north to avoid the worst of the South Beach evening. A comfortable property to work and a straightforward run to either airport outside season.

  • Mid-Beach
  • Proper porte-cochere

Fontainebleau Miami Beach

Mid-Beach

A very large property with a long entrance drive and a great deal of its own traffic, particularly when it is hosting a convention or an event. The drive can queue at peak checkout. We allow for it rather than treating the address as the arrival point.

  • Very large property
  • Long entrance drive
  • Queues at checkout

Loews Miami Beach

South Beach

On Collins at 16th with a substantial forecourt, and a heavy convention and group business that fills it at predictable times. Close to the convention centre, so during the larger shows the surrounding blocks are at capacity and we work from an agreed point.

  • Substantial forecourt
  • Convention business
  • Show-week planning

Acqualina Resort

Sunny Isles

On Collins in Sunny Isles, well north of the beach congestion with easy access and a quiet arrival. Materially closer to Fort Lauderdale than to Miami International, and for most guests here FLL is the sensible airport by a clear margin.

  • Sunny Isles
  • Quiet arrival
  • FLL is closer

The St. Regis Bal Harbour

Bal Harbour

On Collins at Bal Harbour with a proper covered entrance and the shops immediately across the road, which fills the surrounding streets through the afternoon. Access is good; the timing is the consideration. Also closer to Fort Lauderdale than to MIA.

  • Bal Harbour
  • Afternoon shopping traffic
  • FLL is closer

From the Miami hotel districts to the airports

Door to kerb, ordinary conditions outside season. The northern properties are genuinely closer to Fort Lauderdale, which is the most useful line on this page.

How Miami hotel transfers are priced

Hotel transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. That no-surge promise holds in season and through the major event weeks, which is the whole point of it — those are precisely the nights when everything else in this city doubles.

If you are still choosing a hotel, tell us where the meetings are. Staying north and flying through Miami, or staying in Brickell and flying through Fort Lauderdale, adds an hour to each end of the trip.
