Booking in San Francisco

A meeting in the Financial District and one in Palo Alto are not the same day’s work. The vehicle is held between them rather than re-dispatched. Chauffeured sedans and SUVs across San Francisco and the wider Bay Area — three commercial airports serving three different parts of the region, and a corporate map that runs forty miles down the Peninsula rather than sitting in one downtown. Booked and managed by Executive Black Car, driven by vetted local operators who work these roads every day.

  • Gratuity and airport fees included
  • Rate agreed in writing, no surge pricing
  • Free cancellation up to 2 hours before pickup
  • Free waiting: 60 minutes at airports, 15 minutes elsewhere

San Francisco airports

San Francisco International (SFO)

Four terminals with the international terminal sitting between the domestic ones, and an arrivals level that works well provided the terminal is right. SFO’s particular hazard is its runways: the two parallel runways are only 750 feet apart, so arrivals are restricted, and low cloud slows them further. Delays can run to hours rather than minutes without the departure board necessarily admitting it early. We watch the inbound aircraft, not the schedule.

Terminals 1, 2 & 3 · International Terminal · Fog-aware scheduling

Oakland (OAK)

Across the bay and frequently quicker than SFO for anyone staying in the East Bay or the northern part of the region. The bridge is the variable — an Oakland run to downtown San Francisco is straightforward at most hours and genuinely slow at the wrong one. Oakland’s compact arrivals area is among the easiest pickups in the Bay Area.

East Bay advantage · Bridge-aware timing · Simple arrivals

San José Mineta (SJC)

The right airport for anyone actually working in Silicon Valley, and consistently underused by visitors who book into SFO out of habit. From SJC to Palo Alto, Mountain View or Cupertino is a short and predictable drive, where the same destinations from SFO mean committing to the 101. We will tell you when SJC is the better arrival point, because it usually is if your meetings are south of Redwood City.

Silicon Valley · Shorter transfers · Predictable timing

Private aviation

Bay Area private traffic is well distributed — San Carlos and Palo Alto serve the mid-Peninsula, San José handles larger aircraft for the south bay, and Oakland and Hayward cover the east. Which field suits you depends almost entirely on where the meetings are. For private arrivals we work from the tail number and coordinate with the FBO directly. Tell us the field and the FBO when you book and we will confirm coverage before you travel.

Where we work in San Francisco

Financial District & SoMa

Most city work here is airport runs and the Peninsula. The city’s corporate core, with SoMa now carrying as much of the technology work as the Financial District carries of the finance. Both are compact and walkable, which means most of our city work is not intra-city travel but airport transfers and runs down the Peninsula.

The Peninsula corridor

The 280 is often faster in practice. Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City and Mountain View form a continuous corporate corridor along the 101 and the 280, and a great deal of Bay Area executive travel never touches San Francisco at all. The 280 is slower on paper and frequently faster in practice.

The South Bay

San José Mineta is usually the better arrival. Cupertino, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale and San José sit far enough south that SFO stops being the obvious airport and San José Mineta usually becomes the better arrival. We cover the whole of the valley, and the South Bay has its own page with the airport comparison, the campus-access detail and its own journey times: black car service in San José.

The East Bay

Oakland often saves crossing the bay twice. Oakland, Berkeley and Emeryville, plus the corporate presence along the 680 corridor. For East Bay work we will often recommend Oakland rather than SFO simply to avoid making the crossing twice in a day.

Napa, Sonoma & long-distance

Wine country is a day booking, not a transfer. Wine country runs are a steady part of Bay Area work, usually as a full day rather than a transfer, and hourly hire is the sensible structure for them. Sacramento, Monterey and Lake Tahoe are quoted per trip.

Typical journey times across the Bay Area

The Peninsula commute is the defining constraint here.

Hotels, venues and campuses we run to

Hotel transfers in San Francisco

Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park is where a great deal of venture business actually happens, and it is an hour from the city in traffic — worth knowing before a day is scheduled across both. Nob Hill’s approaches are steep and narrow; we use the level entrance where one exists.

Events & venues in San Francisco

Levi’s Stadium and Shoreline are both down the Peninsula rather than in the city, so an event there is a forty-mile round trip from a San Francisco hotel. We say so at booking rather than after.

Wine country days run long and rarely to plan, which is exactly why hourly hire suits them and a fixed transfer does not. The bridge crossing northbound on a Friday afternoon is the part that catches people out.

Universities & campuses in San Francisco

Stanford’s campus is closed to through traffic in places and the visitor entrances are not where a mapping application sends you. Commencement and reunion weekends change the roads around Palo Alto entirely and are worth booking well ahead.
