How the San Francisco day is built
A city morning and a Sand Hill afternoon is a thirty-five mile day with a commute in the middle of it. That is an hourly booking. Bay Area corporate work almost always crosses between the city and the peninsula, and the 101 decides how that goes. Investor roadshows in particular run city-to-Menlo-Park-and-back on a schedule that assumes each meeting ends on time, which they do not. Hourly hire absorbs that; a chain of transfers does not. Parking at the valley campuses is also genuinely difficult, so holding a vehicle is frequently simpler than releasing one.
The investor roadshow pattern
A day that starts in the Financial District, works down Sand Hill Road and returns to the city is the most common shape we run here, and it is the one least suited to point-to-point booking. Meetings overrun, the 101 turns, and a released vehicle is forty minutes away when you need it. We hold between stops and keep the chauffeur reachable directly.
Campus access is the real constraint
Several of the largest technology campuses have visitor entrances nowhere near the address a mapping application offers, and some require a name on a list before a vehicle reaches the gate. We confirm the building and the visitor entrance before the day rather than circling a perimeter road looking for a way in.
The same chauffeur across the visit
On a multi-day roadshow the chauffeur learns the party, the buildings and which of the Sand Hill drives is which — they are not signposted in a way that helps a first-time driver. We assign a named chauffeur for the duration and give you a line to dispatch rather than an app.
San Francisco accounts and billing
Consolidated billing
Accounts are invoiced monthly against cost centres, deal codes or individual travellers, whichever your finance team uses. Each line carries the route, the vehicle and the chauffeur, so an invoice reconciles without a phone call.
Booked by assistants, for travellers
Most of this work is placed by someone who is not travelling. Bookings go in by email or phone, confirmations name the chauffeur and the vehicle, and changes are made by replying rather than re-entering a form. On a day with several principals you get one point of contact rather than several drivers.
Between San Francisco and the valley
These are the legs a Bay Area corporate day is made of. The peninsula numbers are the reason we recommend hourly hire here more often than not.

Notes on San Francisco districts
Financial District & SoMa. Street-level pickup in the Financial District is straightforward outside the afternoon peak, when we will usually suggest a cross street rather than a tower entrance.
The Peninsula corridor. A day with meetings in two Peninsula towns and a flight out of SFO is the most common shape of booking we see here.
The East Bay. Bridge timing governs everything on this side of the bay, and a booking that crosses at the wrong hour pays for it heavily.
Napa, Sonoma & long-distance. Sacramento, Monterey and Lake Tahoe are quoted per trip. These are the bookings where the vehicle matters least and the chauffeur matters most.
The South Bay.
How San Francisco corporate work is priced
San Francisco and the Bay Area are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. Hourly hire is available and suits Peninsula days well, where a chauffeur held between meetings costs less than three separate transfers and removes the timing risk entirely. Rates are set per market, so a Bay Area quote reflects the Bay Area.
Hourly hire is quoted at a market rate with a stated minimum and no surge at any hour. Point-to-point corporate transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. Accounts are invoiced monthly with line-level detail.
A roadshow day that crosses between the city and the peninsula is almost always cheaper hourly than as separate transfers, and very much more likely to keep its schedule. We will say which way it falls for your day.
