The San Francisco venues we run to
San Francisco’s conference calendar is the thing that reshapes this city, and the largest shows fill every hotel from the city to the airport and make SoMa effectively pedestrian. Add a Chase Center event or a home game at Oracle Park on the same evening and the southern waterfront runs at capacity. We stage clear of the venue and come forward on a call rather than joining a queue that is not moving.
Conventions, arenas and performance. Moscone drives the city’s convention economy and a major show fills every hotel south of Market. Chase Center and Oracle Park sit close together, so a double event night is genuinely difficult.
Wine country, the coast and the region. Napa and Sonoma work is a steady part of the Bay Area trade and is almost always a day rather than a transfer. The coast and the mountains are quoted per trip.
Moscone Center
SoMa
Three buildings across two blocks of SoMa, connected below ground, with different halls reached from different streets. During the largest conferences the surrounding blocks close to vehicles and hotel access moves to designated points. We work from those and confirm the hall rather than the building.
Chase Center
Mission Bay
In Mission Bay with modern access designed for the job and a good deal of surrounding space, which makes it easier than most arenas of its size. The complication is proximity to Oracle Park: two events on one evening put everything onto the same few approaches.
Oracle Park
Mission Bay
On the waterfront at China Basin, served heavily by transit and by people walking from SoMa, which takes real pressure off the roads. The Embarcadero north of the park is the constraint. We collect from an agreed point rather than the gates.
Davies Symphony Hall
Civic Center
In the Civic Center opposite City Hall, sharing a plaza and an evening with the opera house next door. When both finish together the whole of Van Ness and Grove takes it at once. We stage on the side streets west of the plaza.
War Memorial Opera House
Civic Center
Beside Davies with the same plaza and the same simultaneous departure problem, and opera performances that finish later than most. Formal nights here mean a great deal of chauffeured traffic at once. Hourly hire suits it better than a booked pickup.
SFMOMA
SoMa
On Third Street in SoMa with a compact frontage and no real forecourt, in a block that is busy through the day and very busy in conference weeks. Evening receptions here are common and the pickup point is best agreed beforehand rather than negotiated at the kerb.
Levi’s Stadium
Santa Clara
Forty-odd miles south in Santa Clara, which makes it a genuine journey rather than a local run. Event traffic fills the 101 and the 237 together and the return to the city afterwards is the worst part of the evening. We stage north of the venue and quote it as the long transfer it is.
Shoreline Amphitheatre
Mountain View
In Mountain View beside the bay, with a single main approach and a large lawn crowd leaving at once when the music stops. Amphitheatre departures are among the slowest there are. We hold well clear and walk you out rather than sitting in the lot.
Getting to the San Francisco venues
Door to venue, ordinary conditions. The right-hand column means an event night; in a Moscone show week the SoMa numbers are worse than that.
| Route | Approx. distance | Off-peak | Allow on an event night |
|---|---|---|---|
| Union Square to Moscone Center | 1 mile | 8–12 min | 20–35 min |
| Financial District to Chase Center | 3 miles | 12–18 min | 30–50 min |
| Financial District to Oracle Park | 2 miles | 10–15 min | 30–50 min |
| Union Square to the Civic Center | 2 miles | 10–15 min | 25–40 min |
| Financial District to Levi’s Stadium | 43 miles | 50–65 min | 90–130 min |
How San Francisco event work is priced
Event transfers are quoted per route, and event nights are usually better booked hourly — a performance or a reception does not end to a timetable. All of it is quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour.
In a major conference week, book early. Every vehicle in this city is committed during the largest shows and a booking made the week before is a very different proposition from one made the month before.
