Stanford is a large campus with restricted internal roads, and the hospitals beside it have their own entrances for their own services. The South Bay’s academic and medical institutions run from Stanford at the northern end to San Jose State downtown, with Santa Clara University between them and a set of hospitals that draw patients from well beyond the region. Stanford in particular is large enough that the building is the only useful instruction. We confirm the campus, the building and the entrance before the day.

A very large campus with its own internal road network, multiple entrances and substantial restricted access in the centre. A street address will reliably put a vehicle a long walk from the building you want. Commencement and reunion weekends reshape the whole approach.
San Jose State University

In the middle of downtown San Jose, an urban campus woven into the grid rather than set apart from it, with city-street access on all sides. Straightforward, and close to both the convention centre and the airport.
Santa Clara University
Santa Clara
A contained campus with open access, easy parking and none of the difficulty the larger sites have. Among the simplest campuses in the region to work. Close to SJC and to Levi’s Stadium, so event nights affect the approach.
Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley
Moffett Field
At Moffett Field in Mountain View, which means the campus sits within a federal airfield site with its own access arrangements. Not an ordinary campus address, and worth establishing the entrance requirements at booking rather than at a gate.
Stanford Health Care
Palo Alto
Adjoining the university with separate entrances for different services and constant traffic through the day. Patients travel here from across the country, and on a treatment day the return time is rarely knowable, which is why hourly hire suits those bookings.
El Camino Health

In Mountain View with a second campus in Los Gatos, so the name alone spans a real distance. The Mountain View site has proper parking and clear signage. Confirming which campus is the useful step at booking.

San Jose
In south San Jose with its own parking and straightforward freeway access, which makes it one of the easier hospital runs in the region. Separate entrances for different services as usual, and shift change is the time to avoid on the approach.
Valley Medical Center
San Jose
The county hospital and regional trauma centre in San Jose, with emergency traffic on the approach roads at any hour and a large campus with several entrances. Access is fine once you know which one, which is what we confirm rather than assume.
