Downtown and Torrey Pines are twenty minutes apart at ten in the morning and considerably more at five. The day is planned around that gap. Chauffeured sedans and SUVs across San Diego — an airport almost inside downtown, a biotech and research corridor strung along the coast to the north, and a convention calendar that periodically overwhelms the city centre entirely. Booked and managed by Executive Black Car, driven by vetted local operators who work these roads every day.

San Diego airports
San Diego International (SAN)
One of the closest major airports to its own downtown anywhere in the country, sitting on a single runway right beside the bay. Terminals 1 and 2 have separate roadways and the arrivals kerb is tight, so the terminal has to be right. Its single runway means delays propagate quickly once weather or traffic flow intervenes, and we watch the inbound aircraft rather than the schedule.

Private aviation
San Diego’s private traffic runs through the FBOs at the international airport and the general-aviation fields inland and to the north, the latter well placed for the biotech corridor and the north county resorts. For private arrivals we work from the tail number and coordinate with the FBO directly rather than a published schedule. Tell us the field and the FBO when you book and we will confirm coverage before you travel.

Where we work in San Diego
Downtown, the Gaslamp & the Convention Center
In show weeks we use the designated loading points. On major show weeks the Gaslamp becomes effectively pedestrian and vehicle access to the hotels changes materially — we work from the designated loading points rather than the front doors during those weeks, and say so at booking.
La Jolla & the coast
Narrow, steep streets make the pickup point matter. La Jolla carries the research institutions, the hotel trade and a good share of the region’s private wealth, and its streets are narrow and steep enough that pickup points matter.
Torrey Pines & the biotech corridor
We confirm the building and entrance at booking. The concentration of biotechnology, pharmaceutical and research employment along the mesa north of the city generates steady executive and scientific travel, much of it international.
Coronado & the bay
The bridge is the whole journey. Reached by bridge, which makes Coronado feel far closer than the journey allows for at peak. The resort and naval presence generate steady work in both directions. The bridge is the whole journey here, and when it slows there is no alternative short of a long loop south.
North County, the border & longer runs
Cross-border trips need arranging specifically. Carlsbad, Del Mar and Encinitas carry corporate offices, golf and resort work up the coast, and Temecula wine country sits inland. Cross-border movements to Tijuana are a genuine part of San Diego business travel and need arranging specifically rather than assumed.
Typical journey times to San Diego International
San Diego’s airport is remarkably close to downtown, which makes short transfers genuinely short. Major convention weeks reshape downtown access completely.

Hotel transfers in San Diego
Coronado is reached by bridge and that bridge is the whole journey at peak. The Del Mar and Carlsbad properties are a real drive from the airport and should be quoted as such.
Events & venues in San Diego
During the largest conventions the Gaslamp closes to vehicles and hotel access moves to designated loading points. We work from those and say so at booking rather than on the day.
Cross-border movements to Tijuana are a genuine part of San Diego business travel and need documents and routing confirmed in advance. Temecula is a day hire rather than a transfer.

Universities & campuses in San Diego
The Torrey Pines campuses are set well back from the road and the correct building is not obvious from the address. We confirm building and entrance before the day.
