The University of Minnesota straddles the river on two campuses that are a genuine journey apart, and the medical institutions here draw patients from across the upper midwest. Rochester and the Mayo Clinic sit ninety minutes south and are a routine booking from MSP. Much of this work recurs — visiting faculty, candidates and patients on schedules — and we set those up as standing arrangements where we can.

University of Minnesota
East & West Bank
A very large campus spanning both banks of the Mississippi, connected by a bridge and a transitway, with restricted internal access in places. The bank matters as much as the building here. Home football and commencement weekends fill the whole south-east of the city.
Carlson School of Management
West Bank
On the West Bank of the university campus, with executive education programmes that bring senior visitors through regularly on tight schedules between the school and MSP. Those recur and work well as standing arrangements.
Macalester College
St. Paul
On Grand Avenue in St. Paul, a compact residential campus on city streets with straightforward access and no serious congestion. Pleasant to work. Closer to MSP than the Minneapolis campuses by a useful margin.
University of St. Thomas
St. Paul & Minneapolis
Two campuses — the main one in St. Paul and a downtown Minneapolis site for the business and law schools. They are a real journey apart and the name alone does not say which. Confirming the campus is the useful step at booking.
Augsburg University
Cedar-Riverside
On the West Bank next to the university in the Cedar-Riverside neighbourhood, compact with limited but workable vehicle access on narrow streets. Shares the area’s traffic with the U of M and the hospitals.
M Health Fairview
Across the region
A network of hospitals and clinics across the Twin Cities including the university medical centre, so the name alone can place a vehicle a long way from the right door. Confirming the specific facility is the single most useful step at booking here.

South of downtown in the Phillips neighbourhood, a large hospital campus with its own parking structures and separate entrances for different services. Shift change queues the approach roads. We confirm which entrance the appointment needs.

Campuses in both cities with dedicated family entrances and a steady flow of families travelling with children and equipment from across the upper midwest. The vehicle matters as much as the route and we ask about seating at booking.

Ninety minutes south and one of the most significant medical destinations in the world, drawing patients internationally for stays measured in weeks.
