The Minneapolis fields

Flying Cloud sits out at Eden Prairie among the western corporate campuses. St. Paul Downtown is minutes from the capitol. Twin Cities private movement runs through the FBO facilities at MSP, Flying Cloud in Eden Prairie, St. Paul Downtown on the river and Anoka County-Blaine to the north. The choice genuinely matters here: Flying Cloud puts you among the western headquarters, St. Paul Downtown minutes from the capitol, and MSP in the middle of everything. We work from the tail number and coordinate with the FBO directly.

Flying Cloud (FCM)

In Eden Prairie among the western corporate campuses, and the busiest general aviation field in the state. For a day of meetings in Minnetonka, Eden Prairie or Edina it puts you on the doorstep, while downtown Minneapolis is a genuine drive. Several FBOs operate here, so the FBO name is what a vehicle needs.

  • Eden Prairie
  • Western campuses
  • FBO name required

St. Paul Downtown (STP)

On Holman Field across the river from downtown St. Paul, which makes it the shortest private arrival for anyone with business at the capitol or in the St. Paul legal district. Minutes rather than half an hour. A well-kept field that is pleasant to operate from.

  • Holman Field
  • Minutes from the capitol
  • Short ground time

MSP FBOs and Anoka County-Blaine

MSP takes private movements on its own ramp with facilities well away from the passenger terminals, so a vehicle sent to a terminal address is in the wrong place. Anoka County-Blaine serves the northern suburbs and takes a good share of the smaller traffic.

  • Separate FBO access
  • Northern suburbs
  • Not the terminal address

Minneapolis winter operations and crew

De-icing is most of the timeline

From November a slot time and a wheels-up are different things, and in a Minnesota January they can be an hour apart. The queue is invisible from the FBO lounge. We plan winter departures against the report time and keep the vehicle available and warm rather than releasing it at the door into a cold car park.

  • De-icing queues
  • Report-time planning
  • Vehicle held and warm

Crew movements and the headquarters traffic

The corporate presence here generates a great deal of regular flying — the same aircraft, the same route, the same week each month — with crew rest between legs. Those work better as standing arrangements at an agreed rate with a named chauffeur than as bookings placed one at a time.

  • Regular schedules
  • Crew rest transfers
  • Standing arrangements

From the Minneapolis private fields

Door to FBO, clear roads. The Flying Cloud and St. Paul Downtown figures are the argument for choosing the field by where you are actually going.

How Minneapolis private aviation transfers are priced

FBO transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. Waiting time is measured against the actual movement rather than a filed time, which through a Minnesota winter is the difference between a fair invoice and an argument.

Tell us the field and the FBO when you book and we will confirm coverage before you travel. If your day is in the western suburbs, ask about Flying Cloud before you file.
