Minneapolis arrivals

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are separate buildings on opposite sides of the airfield. Getting that wrong costs a shuttle ride and twenty minutes. Minneapolis-Saint Paul sits between the two downtowns rather than beyond one of them, which makes both runs short by the standards of most metropolitan areas. The complication here is not distance but the two terminals, which are genuinely separate airports for pickup purposes, and the winter, which adds real time to every stage of a journey at once. We confirm the terminal against the flight number and meet inside arrivals.

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are not the same place

They sit on opposite sides of the airfield, connected by light rail rather than a walkway, and there is no quick correction if a vehicle is sent to the wrong one. Terminal 1 carries most of the traffic; Terminal 2 handles the low-cost carriers and catches people out because the airline changed since they last flew. We check against the flight number on the day.

Meeting you indoors

For four months of the year standing outside waiting for a car is genuinely unpleasant, and in January it is worse than that. Our default is a chauffeur inside the arrivals hall with your name and a pre-warmed vehicle brought to you. In summer a kerb collection works perfectly well here and we are happy to do it.

  • Named meet inside
  • Pre-warmed vehicle
  • Seasonal by default

Delays and early landings

We track the tail number rather than the schedule, so an aircraft down early is met early. Winter here produces upstream cancellations more often than local diversions, and a flight that disappears from the board is something we pick up before you have to call about it.

Minneapolis winter, honestly

The roads are cleared, but everything slows at once

Minnesota handles snow better than almost anywhere, so the driving is rarely the problem. What changes is that de-icing queues, surface streets and loading in the cold all add time together. From November we build genuine allowance into every airport booking and tell you why it is there rather than quoting the summer number and apologising.

  • Roads are cleared
  • Allowance built in
  • Explained, not hidden

Where a passenger actually waits

Downtown Minneapolis is connected above street level by the skyway, and in February nobody walks outdoors to find a car. That changes the pickup from a street corner to a named building entrance, agreed at booking. It sounds like a detail and it is the difference between a comfortable departure and a cold one.

  • Skyway system
  • Building entrance
  • Agreed at booking

Door to kerb, clear roads. From November add meaningful time to all of these; we quote the winter number in winter rather than the summer one.

The figures below assume clear roads; from November we add real time rather than quoting the summer number and apologising in January.

How Minneapolis airport transfers are priced

Every MSP route is quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. That holds through a snow event, which is precisely when everything else in this market multiplies.

Rochester and the Mayo Clinic are a routine run from MSP and quoted per trip. If that is your destination, say so at booking — it is ninety minutes each way and not a local transfer.
