The New Orleans fields
Lakefront Airport is minutes from the CBD. MSY is fifteen miles away. That is the whole decision. New Orleans is one of the clearest private-field decisions we handle anywhere. Lakefront Airport sits on Lake Pontchartrain minutes from the Central Business District, while MSY is fifteen miles out in Kenner. For anyone whose business is in the city, Lakefront removes almost all of the ground time. MSY takes the larger aircraft and Houma serves the south. We work from the tail number and coordinate with the FBO directly.
New Orleans Lakefront (NEW)
On the lake at the northern edge of the city, minutes from the CBD and the Quarter rather than a quarter of an hour on an interstate. A handsome art deco terminal and a genuinely pleasant field to operate from. For city business it is the obvious choice and it is consistently under-used by visitors who default to MSY.
MSY private terminals
The FBO facilities sit away from the passenger terminal with their own access, and the field takes aircraft that Lakefront cannot. For anything large, or for a party connecting to a commercial flight, MSY is the right answer despite the extra fifteen miles.
Houma-Terrebonne (HUM)
South-west toward the coast, serving the energy industry along the bayou and the offshore operations that run from there. A specialised field for a specialised purpose, and a real drive from New Orleans. Worth knowing about when the destination is genuinely south.
New Orleans weather, crew and the calendar
Storms and hurricane season
Summer afternoon storms delay departures routinely and hurricane season can close the whole schedule. We measure waiting against the actual movement rather than a filed time the weather has overtaken, and in a serious event we will tell you plainly what is and is not possible rather than promising a time we cannot hold.
Festival weeks fill every field
Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest and the largest conventions bring private traffic into both fields in volume, and parking on the ramp becomes the constraint. Ground transport books out at the same rate. We will say plainly when a date is going to be difficult rather than taking the booking and hoping.

Door to FBO, ordinary conditions. The Lakefront figures are the entire argument for using it when your business is in the city.

How New Orleans private aviation transfers are priced
FBO transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. Waiting time is measured against the actual movement rather than a filed time, which in a market with this much weather is the difference between a fair invoice and an argument.
Tell us the field and the FBO when you book. If your business is in the city, ask about Lakefront before you file — the ground time is not comparable to MSY.
