The New Orleans hotels we run to

Royal Street is closed to vehicles for much of the day. Two of the best hotels in the city are on it. New Orleans hotels divide between the CBD and Warehouse District, where the streets are wide and the forecourts work, and the French Quarter, where they were laid out for carriages and still are. Quarter addresses are frequently unreachable at the hour you want them, and that is not a failing of the hotel. We agree a workable arrival point at booking and walk you the short distance rather than attempting a closed street.

These are the addresses people actually give a chauffeur in New Orleans. In the Quarter, knowing where a vehicle can legally stop is most of the value.

Where visiting executives stay. The CBD and Warehouse District take the convention and corporate traffic, while the Quarter properties carry the visitor business on streets that make access difficult.

Windsor Court Hotel

CBD

On Gravier Street in the CBD with a proper covered entrance and a forecourt that works at any hour, which after the Quarter properties is a relief. Close to the Convention Center and Canal Street without being in the worst of either. One of the easiest arrivals in the city.

  • CBD
  • Covered entrance
  • Reliably reachable

The Roosevelt New Orleans

CBD

On Baronne just off Canal, a grand house with a covered entrance set back from the street. Canal itself carries streetcars and heavy traffic, so the Baronne side is the working answer. During Mardi Gras the parade routes affect the approach for days.

  • Off Canal Street
  • Covered entrance
  • Parade-route effects

Hotel Monteleone

French Quarter

On Royal Street in the heart of the Quarter, which is closed to vehicles for much of the day and all of the evening. The hotel is magnificent and the street does not cooperate. We work from Iberville or the Canal side and agree the point at booking, every time.

  • On Royal Street
  • Street closed much of the day
  • Work from Iberville

Royal Sonesta New Orleans

French Quarter

Also on Royal, near Bourbon, with the same constraint compounded by being in the busiest block of the Quarter. Evening departures here are a walk to an agreed corner rather than a pickup at the door, and planning that in advance is most of the value.

  • Royal at Bourbon
  • Busiest block
  • Walk to an agreed corner

The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans

Canal Street

On Canal Street at the edge of the Quarter, which gives it a proper entrance on a wide street — unusual for a property this close to the Quarter and genuinely useful. Streetcars run along Canal and the neutral ground limits turning, so the approach direction matters.

  • On Canal
  • Proper entrance
  • Streetcar limits turning

Ace Hotel New Orleans

Warehouse District

On Carondelet in the Warehouse District, where the streets are wider and the access is straightforward. Busy in the evening with its own bar and music traffic. Close to the Convention Center, which makes it a sensible convention base.

  • Warehouse District
  • Straightforward access
  • Near the Convention Center

The Eliza Jane

Warehouse District

On Magazine Street in a row of converted warehouses, with a compact entrance on a street that is busy but workable. The Warehouse District generally is far easier for a vehicle than the Quarter a few blocks away, and this is a good example of why.

  • Magazine Street
  • Compact entrance
  • Easier than the Quarter

Hotel Peter and Paul

Marigny

In the Marigny in a converted church and schoolhouse, on residential streets just beyond the Quarter. Quieter and easier to reach than a Quarter address, though Frenchmen Street nearby closes on a busy night. A short run to the CBD.

  • Marigny
  • Converted church
  • Frenchmen Street nearby

Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans

Warehouse District

In the former World Trade Center at the foot of Canal by the river, purpose-converted with proper vehicle access and river views. Close to the Convention Center and the Quarter without the access problems of either. Among the easiest luxury arrivals here.

  • Foot of Canal
  • Purpose-converted access
  • Near everything

Pontchartrain Hotel

Garden District

On St. Charles Avenue in the Garden District with the streetcar running past the door, which limits stopping and turning — the neutral ground is the constraint rather than the traffic. We approach from the correct direction, which is planned rather than discovered.

  • St. Charles Avenue
  • Streetcar and neutral ground
  • Directional approach

Door to kerb, ordinary conditions. The Quarter figures assume we can reach the agreed point; during festival weeks we plan rather than estimate.

How New Orleans hotel transfers are priced

Hotel transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. That holds through Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, which is when it matters — those are exactly the weeks everything else in this city multiplies.

For a Quarter hotel, we agree the arrival and departure points when you book rather than on the day. The street outside may well be closed, and the workable alternative is far better decided in advance than improvised with luggage.
