The Columbus fields
Bolton Field and Ohio State University Airport handle most of the private movement, and Rickenbacker takes the larger aircraft. Private traffic around Columbus runs through the FBO facilities at John Glenn, Bolton Field to the south-west, Ohio State University Airport to the north-west and Rickenbacker International to the south, which handles the larger aircraft and cargo operations. John Glenn is closest to downtown and to Easton; the others each serve their own corner of the region. We work from the tail number and coordinate with the FBO directly.
John Glenn private terminals
FBO facilities away from the passenger terminal on their own access roads, which makes the terminal address the wrong one for a vehicle. Being close to both downtown and Easton, this is the sensible field for most business here and the ground time is short.
Bolton Field (TZR) and OSU Airport (OSU)
Bolton Field sits south-west of the city and handles a good share of the corporate traffic, while Ohio State University Airport to the north-west is well placed for Dublin and the northern campuses. For a day spent up that way, OSU Airport removes a real drive.
Rickenbacker (LCK)
South of the city, a former air force base with long runways that handle aircraft the other fields cannot, alongside a substantial cargo operation. For large aircraft or unusual movements it is the field that works, at the cost of a longer drive into the city.
Columbus winter operations and crew
De-icing is part of the timeline
From December a slot time and a wheels-up are different things, and the de-icing queue is invisible from the FBO lounge. We plan winter departures against the report time and keep the vehicle available rather than releasing it at the door into an empty car park in the cold.
Recurring corporate flying
The corporate presence here generates a good deal of regular flying — the same aircraft, the same route, the same week each month. Those work better as standing arrangements at an agreed rate with a named chauffeur than as bookings placed one at a time.
From the Columbus private fields
Door to FBO, ordinary conditions in dry weather. The OSU Airport figures are the case for using it when the business is up north.

How Columbus private aviation transfers are priced
FBO transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. Waiting time is measured against the actual movement rather than a filed time, which through an Ohio winter is the difference between a fair invoice and an argument.
Tell us the field and the FBO when you book and we will confirm coverage before you travel. If your day is in Dublin or New Albany, ask about OSU Airport before you file.
