How the Boston day is built
Boston was laid out before the grid was invented. Knowing where a vehicle can legally stop is most of what you are paying for. A great deal of our Boston corporate work runs between the Financial District, the Seaport and Cambridge, and crossing the river is the constraint that shapes the day. Which bridge works depends entirely on the hour. Hourly hire suits this better than a chain of transfers, particularly in Cambridge and Longwood where parking is scarce enough that holding a vehicle is simpler and cheaper than releasing and recalling one.
The biotech roadshow pattern
A day that works Kendall Square, the Seaport and Longwood is the most common shape we run here, and it crosses the river twice. Each crossing is unpredictable in a way the mileage does not suggest. Hourly hire absorbs that; the vehicle stages near the next stop rather than leaving, so an overrun costs the overrun only.
Where a vehicle can actually stop
In the Financial District a building’s address frequently tells you nothing about where a car can wait, one-way patterns change by time of day and some streets are simply not viable. Agreeing a workable pickup point at booking is a genuine piece of value here rather than a formality.
The same chauffeur across the visit
On a multi-day roadshow the chauffeur learns the party, the buildings and which of the Cambridge cross-streets is passable this month given the construction. That continuity is worth more here than in a grid city. We assign a named chauffeur and give you a direct line to dispatch.
Boston accounts and billing
Consolidated billing
Accounts are invoiced monthly against cost centres, programme codes or individual travellers, whichever your finance team uses. Each line carries the route, the vehicle and the chauffeur.
Booked by assistants, for travellers
Most of this work is placed by someone who is not travelling, so the process is built for them: booking by email or phone, confirmations naming the chauffeur and the vehicle, changes made by replying rather than re-entering a form.
Between the Boston business districts
These are the legs a Boston corporate day is made of. Short distances, wide spreads — which is precisely the case for holding a vehicle.

Notes on Boston districts
Financial District & Downtown. The street plan predates the grid by a couple of centuries, one-way patterns change direction by time of day, and a building’s address frequently tells you nothing about where a vehicle can actually stop.
Back Bay. Back Bay’s grid is one of the few parts of Boston that behaves predictably, which makes it a comfortable district to work.
The Seaport. The convention centre here handles the larger shows, and on those weeks the district’s few approach roads carry far more than they were built for.
Cambridge & Kendall Square. Kendall Square, Harvard Square and the biotech concentration along Binney Street generate a great deal of executive and academic travel, and Cambridge functions as a separate city for traffic purposes.
Longwood, the 128 corridor & beyond. Cape Cod, Newport and the ski country to the north are quoted per trip as long-distance work.
How Boston corporate work is priced
Boston is quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. Hourly hire is available and suits Cambridge and Longwood days particularly well, where parking is scarce enough that holding a vehicle is simpler than releasing and recalling one. Rates are set per market, so a Boston quote reflects Boston.
Hourly hire is quoted at a market rate with a stated minimum and no surge at any hour. Point-to-point corporate transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. Accounts are invoiced monthly with line-level detail.
For a day in Cambridge or Longwood, hourly hire is almost always cheaper once parking is counted honestly, and considerably more likely to keep to the schedule you planned.
