The Atlanta hotels we run to

Most recurring Atlanta work starts or ends at a hotel forecourt. Which forecourt, and which door of it, is the part that decides whether the pickup is easy. Atlanta’s executive hotels cluster in three places: Buckhead along Peachtree Road, Midtown around the arts district, and downtown beside the convention centre. Each behaves differently at checkout time, and a few have a side entrance that works considerably better than the one the address points at.

These are the addresses people actually give a chauffeur in Atlanta. Naming them is not a directory exercise — each one has its own approach, its own kerb and its own way of going wrong at the wrong hour, and knowing that in advance is most of the job.

Where visiting executives stay. Buckhead holds the densest cluster of executive hotels in the South-east, with Midtown close behind and the downtown properties serving the convention trade. Most of our recurring Atlanta work starts or ends at one of these.

The St. Regis Atlanta

Buckhead

Set back from West Paces Ferry with its own gated entrance and a forecourt that handles vehicles well even at peak checkout. One of the more comfortable pickups in the city. It sits at the quieter end of Buckhead, which means the run down to Peachtree Road adds a couple of minutes that are worth allowing for on a tight airport departure.

  • Gated forecourt
  • Quieter end of Buckhead

Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead

Buckhead · Peachtree Road

On the main Peachtree Road spine, which makes it quick to reach and slow to leave in the afternoon. The forecourt is compact, so for a group or a multi-bag departure we will usually agree a specific timing rather than arriving on spec and circling.

  • Peachtree Road
  • Compact forecourt

Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta

Midtown

The Midtown anchor, close to the arts venues and Tech Square, and consequently the hotel of choice for anyone whose business is in Midtown rather than Buckhead. It is meaningfully closer to the airport than the Buckhead properties, which matters on an early departure.

  • Midtown
  • Closer to ATL than Buckhead

The Whitley

Buckhead · Peachtree Road

In the heart of the Buckhead hotel cluster and within a short radius of the St. Regis and the Waldorf Astoria, which is what makes a multi-hotel morning pickup practical here. Its position also means it empties into the same traffic as its neighbours at the same hour.

  • Buckhead cluster
  • Multi-hotel pickups

InterContinental Buckhead

Buckhead · Peachtree Road

A steady source of corporate and conference travel with a workable forecourt and its own event space, which means it generates group movements as well as individual transfers. Group work here is better staged in advance than dispatched on the day.

  • Conference space
  • Group movements

Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead

Buckhead · Peachtree Road

Another of the Peachtree Road cluster, well used by corporate accounts and conference groups. Like its neighbours, the constraint is the road rather than the hotel: leaving Buckhead southbound in the morning peak is the slow part of any airport run from here.

  • Corporate accounts
  • Southbound morning peak

Thompson Atlanta Buckhead

Buckhead

Newer, smaller and popular with executive travellers who want Buckhead without the conference traffic. The kerb here is tighter than at the larger properties, so we agree a pickup time rather than waiting on the forecourt.

  • Smaller property
  • Timed pickups

Loews Atlanta

Midtown

A Midtown property that sees heavy event and arts-district demand, particularly on nights when the Fox Theatre or Symphony Hall are running. On those evenings the surrounding blocks are the problem rather than the hotel, and we stage nearby rather than idling at the door.

  • Arts district
  • Event-night staging

Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park

Downtown · Centennial Park

Directly adjacent to the convention and arena complex, which is its advantage and its difficulty. On a show week or an event night the approach roads are subject to closure, and a driver who already knows the alternate approach is worth more than a faster vehicle.

  • Convention adjacent
  • Closure-aware approach

Signia by Hilton Atlanta

Downtown · convention district

Built for the convention trade and connected into that complex, so its busiest movements are group arrivals and departures rather than individual transfers. These need vehicles positioned before they are wanted, not called when they are.

  • Convention groups
  • Staged in advance

The Candler Hotel

Downtown · Peachtree Street

A smaller downtown property in a historic building on Peachtree Street, with a correspondingly modest kerb. Pickups here work best from an agreed point rather than the front door, particularly at the end of the working day.

  • Historic building
  • Agreed pickup point

Hotel Clermont

Poncey-Highland

Outside the traditional executive districts, on the east side near Ponce City Market, and increasingly chosen by travellers who would rather not stay in Buckhead. It sits away from the main corridors, so airport timing from here differs from the standard Buckhead or Midtown figures.

  • East side
  • Different airport timing

From the Atlanta hotel districts to ATL

Door to kerb, ordinary conditions. Buckhead is the furthest of the three clusters from the airport and the one most exposed to the morning peak, which is the single most useful thing to know when booking a departure.

How Atlanta hotel transfers are priced

Hotel transfers are quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour. For a stay with several movements, hourly hire or an account is usually simpler than booking each leg separately.
