The San Antonio venues we run to

Fiesta closes central streets for parades on a published schedule that visitors routinely underestimate. Those days need planning around the route. San Antonio event work is dominated by Fiesta in the spring and by the downtown venues the rest of the year. The convention centre, the Alamodome and the Frost Bank Center sit within a few miles of each other and a large event at any of them fills the central streets. We plan parade days around the route rather than the mileage, and stage clear of venues rather than joining queues at the gates.

Conventions, arenas and venues. The convention centre and the arena sit at opposite ends of downtown, and Fiesta in spring reshapes the whole central city for over a week.

Culture, dining and the region. Evening work runs to The Pearl and the River Walk, and the Hill Country and border are regular longer runs.

Henry B. González Convention Center

Downtown

On the River Walk in the middle of downtown with several halls and entrances on different streets. Because it sits centrally rather than on the edge, a large show pushes traffic through the whole core. We confirm the hall rather than the building and time against the session.

  • On the River Walk
  • Several hall entrances
  • Confirm the hall

Frost Bank Center

East Side

East of downtown with substantial surface parking and good freeway access, which makes it considerably easier to leave than a downtown arena. There are workable staging positions a short walk from the gates. We collect from an agreed lot rather than the doors.

  • East Side
  • Substantial parking
  • Workable staging

Alamodome

Downtown east

Just east of downtown, very large, and used for everything from football to major concerts and conventions. Its capacity means a full house is one of the biggest movements in the region. The surrounding lots help; the volume onto the I-37 is the constraint.

  • Very large capacity
  • Own lots
  • I-37 is the constraint

Majestic Theatre

Downtown

On Houston Street downtown, a restored house with a narrow frontage and no forecourt, letting out into streets that carry evening downtown traffic. We work from an agreed point a block away rather than the front, which is quicker and considerably calmer.

  • Houston Street
  • No forecourt
  • Agreed point a block away

Tobin Center

River Walk north

On the northern reach of the River Walk with its own plaza and reasonable access from Auditorium Circle. Performances end into a quieter part of downtown than the Majestic, which makes the departure genuinely easier. The plaza itself is pedestrian.

  • Northern river reach
  • Own plaza
  • Easier departure

The Alamo

Downtown

In the middle of Alamo Plaza, which is pedestrian and surrounded by streets that carry heavy visitor traffic through the day. Private evening events here are common. There is no vehicle access at the site itself and we agree a point on a surrounding street.

  • Pedestrian plaza
  • No vehicle access
  • Evening events

SeaWorld San Antonio

West

West of the city with its own very large car park and a single main entrance road that queues at opening and at closing rather than throughout. Family traffic with luggage and equipment is common, which affects the vehicle more than the route.

  • Large car park
  • Opening and closing queues
  • Family vehicles

Six Flags Fiesta Texas

North-west

Out near La Cantera in a former quarry, with substantial parking and freeway access. Busy on summer weekends and straightforward at other times. Close enough to the resorts that a combined resort and park day works well.

  • Near La Cantera
  • Freeway access
  • Pairs with the resorts

Getting to the San Antonio venues

Door to venue, ordinary conditions. The right-hand column means an event night; Fiesta parade days are planned from the route rather than estimated.

How San Antonio event work is priced

Event transfers are quoted per route, and event evenings are usually better booked hourly. All of it is quoted per route and confirmed in writing before you travel, with no surge pricing at any hour, including through Fiesta.

For Fiesta week, book early and tell us where you need to be. Some addresses are unreachable by vehicle on parade days and we would rather plan a workable alternative than send a car into a closed route.
