The Raleigh–Durham fields
The Triangle is unusual in that the main airport is also the sensible private field for almost every destination — RDU sits equidistant from Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill and eight miles from RTP. Johnston County to the south-east and Burlington to the west take smaller movements and serve their own corners. We work from the tail number and coordinate with the FBO directly.
RDU private terminals
Substantial FBO facilities on the field with their own access roads, well away from the passenger terminals — a vehicle sent to a terminal address is in the wrong place. Because RDU is central to the whole Triangle, it is the right field for nearly every destination here, which is not true of most markets.
Johnston County (JNX)
South-east near Smithfield with a long runway and plenty of room, serving the eastern side of the region and anyone heading toward the coast. Quieter than RDU and a genuine drive from Durham or Chapel Hill, so it suits its own corner rather than the whole Triangle.
Burlington-Alamance (BUY)
West along I-40 between the Triangle and the Triad, useful for anyone whose business sits out that way or who is splitting a trip between Raleigh and Greensboro. Simple access and no congestion. A real drive from RTP.

The park is the destination, not the city
Most private arrivals here are not going to Raleigh or Durham at all — they are going to a specific building in Research Triangle Park, eight miles from the ramp and set back among pines behind a gate that wants a name. That is an unusual pattern. It means the useful question at booking is the building, not the city.
Basketball changes the ramp
Few markets have their private traffic shaped by a college sport, and this one does. A Duke or UNC home date against a ranked opponent brings aircraft in that would not otherwise come, fills the ramp and books out every vehicle in the region. Those dates are known months ahead and we plan around them rather than being surprised.
