The University of Texas dominates academic travel in this market, with a large campus immediately north of downtown and a calendar that reshapes the central city several times a year. The Dell medical campuses sit alongside it. University of Texas at Austin
Central Austin
A very large campus immediately north of downtown with restricted internal access and a street address that will put a vehicle a long way from most buildings. Home football Saturdays close streets across the central city and fill the I-35 in both directions.
St. Edward’s University
South Austin
On a hill in south Austin with a compact campus, clear entrances and proper parking. Considerably simpler to work than UT and well placed for the airport. The approach climbs from Congress Avenue.
Texas State University
San Marcos
In San Marcos, thirty miles south between Austin and San Antonio, which makes it a genuine transfer rather than a local run. A large open campus with straightforward access. Close to San Marcos airport for anyone arriving privately.
Huston-Tillotson University
East Austin
In east Austin close to downtown, a small historic campus on city streets with simple vehicle access. Quick from the airport and from downtown, and unaffected by most of the central event closures.
Dell Seton Medical Center
Central Austin
On the UT campus edge as the teaching hospital, which means it shares the campus traffic and the game-day closures. Separate entrances for different services. Treatment days are better booked hourly because the return time is rarely knowable.
Dell Children’s Medical Center
Mueller
In the Mueller district north-east of downtown, modern with a dedicated family entrance and proper drop-off. Families travelling with children and equipment are much of this work, and we ask about seating and equipment at booking rather than at the kerb.
Ascension Seton
Across the region
A network of hospitals across central Texas rather than a single site, so the name alone can place a vehicle a long way from the right door. Confirming the specific facility is the most useful step at booking here.
