The Austin fields
Austin Executive out at Pflugerville serves the north, and the AUS private terminals serve everything else. Event weeks fill both. Private movement here runs through the FBO facilities at Austin-Bergstrom, Austin Executive north-east at Pflugerville and San Marcos to the south. Bergstrom is closest to downtown; Austin Executive suits The Domain, Round Rock and the northern corridor. During SXSW, ACL and race weekends the private ramps run at capacity and ground transport needs the same lead time as the slot.
Austin-Bergstrom private terminals
The FBO facilities sit away from the passenger terminal on their own access roads, so a vehicle sent to the terminal address is in the wrong place. Being close to downtown makes this the shortest ground time available for a central destination, and for most visitors it is the sensible field.
Austin Executive (EDC)
North-east at Pflugerville, well placed for The Domain, Round Rock and the northern technology corridor, and considerably quieter to operate from than Bergstrom. For a week of meetings up north it removes a good deal of driving. A genuine run from downtown.
San Marcos (HYI)
South between Austin and San Antonio, which makes it the sensible field for anyone splitting a trip between the two cities or heading into the southern Hill Country. Plenty of room and few constraints. A long run to central Austin.

Race and festival weekends fill the ramps
Formula 1 weekend in particular brings private traffic on a scale the region otherwise never sees, and parking on the field becomes the constraint rather than the airspace. Ground transport books out just as fast. We will tell you plainly when a date is going to be difficult rather than taking the booking and hoping.
Texas heat and crew movements
Through the summer the ramp is genuinely hot and a vehicle that has been standing is worse. We pre-cool before arrival, carry water and position as close to the aircraft as the FBO allows. Crew transfers recur here and work better as standing arrangements than as individual bookings.
